Being a wedding photographer is so much fun. Not only do I get to document one of the happiest milestones in a couple’s life, but I also get to join in all the celebrations. Plus, every couple that I come across is so welcoming and kind, making my job a true joy for me. I recently photographed Katie and Adam’s wedding at Hazlewood Castle in Yorkshire, and I must say that these two lovebirds are head over heels for each other, and their wedding pictures say it all. Here’s a glimpse of everything that happened at their wedding.

Katie And Adam’s Wedding At Hazlewood Castle

The best part of being a wedding photographer is that I don’t only come across new people, but I also get to see some familiar faces again! I met Katie and Adam back in 2018, when I photographed Katie’s sister’s wedding. So, when the lovely couple contacted me to photograph their own wedding, I was extremely thrilled. Plus, it’s always a pleasure to work with people you already know, as you have an idea of what they like and expect from you.

Katie and Adam had an autumn wedding at the famous Hazlewood Castle. The venue is the perfect setting for a romantic wedding, and is set in over seventy acres of lush green parkland. The historic landscapes offer a stunning backdrop for wedding photos, and the castle’s dedicated wedding team are on hand to help couples plan their dream day, ensuring everything runs smoothly. With its majestic views and wide open spaces, Hazlewood Castle is sure to make any couple’s wedding truly unforgettable.

Katie looked radiant as she got ready for her big day. She had a smile on her face the entire time and was so excited to marry the love of her life. Her chapel-length veil had sparkling glitter all over it which was gorgeous as it caught the light in her bridal pictures. Adam looked dashing in his suit with his best man Stefan right next to him. It was evident that Adam was just as excited to marry Katie as she was to marry him.

Adam and Katie had a very British first look and they didn’t see each other face-to-face before the ceremony and, instead, they stood back-to-back on either side of a door and held hands. It was such an intimate moment!

Katie and Adam’s wedding day was nothing short of perfection. The ceremony was held indoors in a breathtaking room with large windows that let in the most phenomenal natural light. Their wedding altar was decorated with exquisite white cherry blossoms, which created an enchanting atmosphere in the room. As Katie gracefully walked down the aisle with her father, all the guests focused their attention on her. Adam and Katie looked so deeply in love, and their vows were particularly touching, with not a single dry eye in the room.

After the ceremony, I whisked away the bride, groom, and bridal party for a few portraits. Adam, Katie, Stefan (best man), and Emma (maid of honour) were so kind and easy to work with. Katie and Adam’s couple portraits were absolutely fantastic and we took full advantage of the castle grounds and architectural elements.

As the day continued, everyone gathered at the reception area to get the party started! The room was decorated elegantly with flowers, fairy lights, and beautifully set tables. The speeches were heartfelt, and the sweetest candid moment was when Adam kissed Katie on her forehead. But even better was when they brought out a full broadsword to cut the cake! Hilarious!

It was a day filled with love and laughter. And even though Mother Nature threw us some curveballs with some scattered showers throughout the day, we still managed to get some drone shots and went ahead with the sparkler recessional as planned – mother Nature – we won!
