As a Hull Wedding Photographer, I’m always excited at the prospect of new venues adding to the already great mix of quality locations we have in the East Riding of Yorkshire.  I was particularly excited when Rise Hall opened its doors and added itself to the ‘A List’ of venues for couples and photographers to get excited about.  I’ve always believed in Rise Hall and when I was approached to support the venue in the very early days through advertising and appearing in their original brochure I knew it was going to be a great long term relationship.  The Hall has seen an explosion of interest over the past 6 months as Helen Davies took over as Rise’s general manager, she has taken Rise is the direction that it was always itching to go down an couples are literally beating the door down for show around appointments.  It is undoubtedly a simply stunning location for a wedding; it has everything to make a fairytale day complete from its opulent interior decor, to its finely landscaped grounds – it really is a fairytale for both couples and photographers.

I met Nikki and Paul almost 2 years before their wedding when Rise had only just opened its doors but they committed to me as their photographer as soon as they had booked The Hall for their nuptials.  We met on the Hessle Foreshore about a month before their big day to plan how all of the photography would fit in and also to shoot some pictures in preparation for how I would be working with them.  The image at the top of the post is from this shoot.  When the wedding day rolled around, we had what looked like was going to be a perfect August day and although Mother Nature did play nice mostly, she did through us a curve ball with a rain shower just as I started the group shots outside so I had to ‘Pied Piper’ over 100 guests back inside to finish off.  The rain couldn’t touch us though – this wedding was meant to be perfect and that it was.

Nikki looked absolutely amazing in her truly original gown – I certainly hadn’t seen anything like it before!  Paul and his groomsmen took ‘dapper’ to the next level and I did wonder if the boys were spending more time on their hair than the ladies might be!  The wedding breakfast was served after speeches and the speeches were as emotional as they get – in fact the Best Man had to be resuscitated several times when his ‘Glass case of Emotion’ got the better of him (I do believe the Groom is still taking the Michael out of him now!)  After 2 lovely couples ‘Penny Drop Sessions’ and a fab first dance, This Hull Wedding Photographer left the happy couple to dance the night away before heading off on a honeymoon all the way to Vietnam!  Here’s Nikki and Paul’s album spreads and I hope you’ll agree it really is beautiful!
