Back in October of last year, we had the pleasure of photographing Tom and Katherine’s wedding at The Lazaat Hotel, East Yorkshire. Lazaat is a very popular venue located just outside of the village of Cottingham and is one of the most popular locations for couples to get married in the East Riding. Lazaat has large permanent marquee ‘pavilion’ which can hold u to 400 guests and a smaller suite called ‘The Monsoon’ for weddings upto 100 guests. It’s a really contemporary place to hold a wedding with well maintained gardens at our disposal as wedding photographers – a wooden bridge and 2 ‘birdcage’ garden features give really great options for pictures.
Tom and Katherine were already well know to me before I shot their wedding. Both of them had been a groomsman and bridesmaid at a previous wedding I photographed and lots of my readers will remember the blog article that went with that wedding. I had a great time shooting the bride and groom’s preparations in the morning – always lots of laughs, nerves, emotions to capture. The couple were married in a civil ceremony within the Monsoon Suite and we took care of the formal group shots inside the restaurant before I took Tom and Katherine off for their ‘Penny Drop Session’. This is that time when the bride and groom get to spend some time away from their family and friends and it’s always at that point that the ‘penny drops’ that they are married!
I was with Tom and Katherine through until 9pm and at that point, Lazaat’s Monsoon suite was jumping. They headed off to Dubai for their honeymoon and we have just finished their gorgeous A4 metal plate covered album. It’s a real beauty. If you like the style of photography you see in their album spreads below, check out more recent examples of our work at Lazaat and other East Yorkshire wedding venues over on Insight’s Facebook page here.
