Tickton Grange Wedding Photography – Last Friday was a very exciting day for me – I’d been looking forward to Nicki and Jenna’s wedding for ages and the big day finally came around. The girls are both paramedics and had been referred to me by one of my previous couples (Dan and Andrea – thank you so much) who also married at Tickton Grange – you can read about their wedding here – https://www.insightphotographers.co.uk/insight-blog/hull-wedding-photographer-andrea-dans-album-tickton-grange/
From the moment I met Nicki and Jenna, I knew their wedding was going to be amazing – the energy they share, their excitement for each other and the plans they were working on filled me full of inspiration. As a wedding photographer, I see myself as a witness – a witness to what is usually the most important day in a couple’s history together and the privilege I have in sharing in this is something that keeps me moving forward each and every wedding.
The girls made my life very easy – they both got ready at Tickton Grange, they held their civil ceremony in the Rose Room and held their wedding brekkie and evening reception all in the same place – easy peasy lemon squeezey! Most of my weddings involve multiple logistics but on this day, I rocked up, switched off the car and that was that until i left at 9.30pm.
Nicki was ready first so I headed to her fantastic self-contained apartment to photograph her final preparations with her daughter and sister. Hair and Makeup by the fab girls over at Bows Hair looked amazing – smoky eyes complimented Nicki’s olive skin perfectly.
The girls had both bought their gowns from Deborah Moore Bridal in Hessle and managed to keep them a secret from each other. They both chose designer gowns by Sottero and Midgley and I was blown away when I got to see them. Both of our brides chose killer shoes to compliment their gowns – Nicki went with Karen Millens and Jenna’s were from Lipsy
Nicki’s Dad arrived as she was getting ready so we had to hide her so we could usher him into the conservatory and he wasn’t allowed to move a muscle – although he did try! The atmosphere was really relaxed and once our bride number 1 was in her gown, I created some lovely images of her by herself before bringing Dad in to see her – a moment which was truly priceless..
I left Nicki enjoying her prosecco and moved into the main building of Tickton Grange to hook up with Bride number 2 – Jenna – who was making her final preps with her mum and sister – she looked absolutely stunning with an intricate powder pink hairdo made extra special with the expert application of hair extensions – you could not tell for a second that her hair was ‘temporary’!!!! The look was so exquisitely feminine with a touch of rock chick chic!
I loved photographing both the girls – their looks were so elegant, made so interesting by their contrasting appearances – I knew they would photograph beautifully together – and they sure did!
Once I’d finished bridal preps, it was on to the civil ceremony in the Rose Room. This room is gorgeous and looked even more stunning with Sarah Nicholson’s Floral Lounge providing their usual standard of awesome venue styling and floristry Nicki and Jenna had chosen to walk down the aisle together with their fathers on either side and therefore met each other in the bar area beforehand – the moment they locked eyes on their ‘to be’s’ was absolutely mesmerising and I certainly won’t forget that moment in a hurry that’s for sure!
The East Riding registrars performed a lovely ceremony, the energy was gorgeous as the girls exchanged their vows and became Wife and Wife! We strolled out into the gardens to shoot the group shots before dinner and stole away fro 15 minutes to explore the gorgeous meadow behind the Grange to create some lovely moments for the girls’ album.
Speeches were hilarious – both dad’s did a great job and then the star of the show had to go to little pageboy Oscar who bravely delivered a perfect speech on behalf of the bridal party – totally priceless and he brough the house down!
After dinner, we headed back out into the grounds of Tickton Grange to create some more lovely moments and this really gave the girls the chance to ‘just be together’ – something that is so precious for a couple on their wedding day.
As we returned from our walkabout, the band and Dj had set up, evening guests were arriving and it was PARRRRRRTY TIME! My oh my, do these girls love to party – the atmosphere was awesome as the girls cut their cake and danced to Ellie Golding for their first dance. The band struck up and the dance floor was rammed!
I enjoyed this wedding so much – the girls are perfect for each other and I was truly humbled by the love that they share for each other and the love that their guests have for them individually and as a couple – they just make you want to be a better person! I wish them both the most happiness in the world and look forward to catching up with them both soon to share the rest of their story with them.
