Thanks to my job, I get to make friends wherever I go. Getting to meet so many new people and making multiple lifelong friends is definitely one of the many things I love about being a wedding photographer. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Shaun and Danielle’s wedding at the Dodmoor House in Northampton. I’ve known Shaun for years – he’d been a groomsman for other friends in several weddings that I’ve shot. Three of those grooms were at this wedding, and it was just such a fun day all around, catching up with everyone and shooting Shaun’s big day. It felt like I was just reuniting with a bunch of old friends. They are such a wonderful bunch to be around, and it was a real honour to also be able to shoot Shaun’s wedding after having known him for a while. Here’s a little glimpse of Shaun and Danielle’s big day.
Shaun And Danielle’s Dodmoor House Wedding
Dodmoor House is a stunning wedding venue set in the heart of Northampton. The main house is a great place for photos, with its grand staircase and sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. I had a wonderful experience at Dodmoor House and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a unique and stylish venue for their wedding. You won’t be disappointed.
I started my day photographing the bride and groom getting ready. Danielle was a vision in her flowy white wedding dress, and the gorgeous bridal bouquet complemented her bridal charm. The groom looked dashing in his wedding attire and was equally excited for the big day. While getting ready, Shaun received a beautiful gift from his father – a pin with his grandparents’ photos to wear inside the jacket of his suit. I was so glad to photograph that special moment. It was one of my favourite moments of the day, and the day was just getting started!
Danielle had a beautiful first look with her father. The love and pride in his eyes was undeniable, and he embraced his daughter with such endearment, it was my privilege to capture those emotions on camera. The ceremony took place with the couple’s close friends and family in attendance. Shaun and Danielle were glowing with happiness as they said I do and exchanged promises for a lifetime of togetherness.
From backdrops featuring the vibrant fall colours to aesthetic brick walls – the Dodmoor House was full of spots for couples portraits of the newlyweds. Shaun and Danielle were so natural and romantic while getting their portraits taken; it was like something straight out of a fairy tale. The couple remained playful and affectionate throughout, and I couldn’t get enough of capturing their love for one another.
Shaun and Danielle’s wedding was a blast! The reception was so much fun. Everyone was interacting and enjoying themselves. The couple had a lovely first dance and were effortlessly beautiful together. They were so happy, and you could just see the love between them. They even had a romantic sparkler exit, and I’m so glad to have captured these memories for my happy couple.
