Hull Wedding Photographers are now back in full swing and I’m sure  it will be October before I have chance to take a breath!  I love the buzz of preparing for each weekend and then the come down once a wedding day is over with a fistful of history recording images to share with couples.  Liz and Ian are no exception, they booked me last year to cover their special day at Rowley Manor, East Yorkshire.  My day started early at just before 8am with a visit to the sleepy village of Bishop Burton to spend some time with Ian and his Dad as they made their preparations for the church.  I hadn’t met Ian’s Dad before and he was such a lovely man to be around, a farm worker from an early age – he had hands like Pat Jennings – each of his fingers were like 2 of mine together!  Once I had photographed the boys getting ready and some casual shots around the pond, it was off to Willerby to see Liz.  She was with her make up artist when I arrived so after a quick chat it was onto photographed all of her details.  Liz’s dress, including her bridesmaids and Mother’s dress were all made by the amazingly talented Louise at Ella D in Roos and were all simply stunning.  Liz’s Mum was understandably  protective over her daughter’s dream dress and passed myself and my assistant a pair of white Snooker Umpire’s gloves to handle it in.  I couldn’t resist becoming Michael Jackson for a few moments as in the picture to the left! Once we had Liz in her dress, I spent some time photographing her and her bridal party before leaving for the church.  Bishop Burton Church is a lovely building set at the top of a upward sloping approach road, the Vicar is really open to services being photographed which makes a huge difference to me as I love to share the intimacy of vow exchange with couples.  Ian was choked up as he saw his bride for the first time as she walked down the aisle but soon regained his composure.  It was a dry but cold day so we invited all of the guests back into the church to take the formal group shots before leaving for the recepetion  at Rowley.  The Casablanca Boys were waiting for the bride and groom to play them into the venue and the atmosphere was a party for the rest of the day.

Rowley-manor-Wedding-PhotographySpeeches were very emotional, especially from Liz’s cousin Damian who played the role of ‘Chief Bridesman’ – a debt of honour he had to settle from an agreement he had made to Liz many years before!  I left liz and Ian  boogying on the dance floor to the sound of the Casablancas and will be catching up with them in a couple of weeks when they return from their Mediterranean cruise.  I hope you enjoy this snippet of images from their big day.  if you would like to see more of my work as a Hull Wedding Photographer, check out my portfolio at the link.
