As a Hull Wedding Photographer, I was delighted to be approached by Rise Hall to be a preferred supplier at East Yorkshire’s newest and most prestigious venue earlier in the year.  I had already been very lucky to be the first photographer to get access to Rise Hall when I collaborated with Yorkshire Brides magazine on a spread for their magazine last Summer, you can see that article here.  Earlier this year, I exhibited at Rise’s first wedding exhibition and it was a complete zoo!  You could barely see the floor most of the day as eager brides and grooms came to check out how Sarah and Graham Beeny had transformed the Hall which had originally been built in the early 1800s for the High Sheriff of Yorkshire.  I met my clients Ian and Kay at the exhibition and we immediately hit it off, after a couple of emails and telephone calls I was booked to shoot their big day in July.

Rise Hall Wedding PhotographsFor me it was a truly magical day; first and foremost I had had a run of about 5 weekends where all of my brides had had to contend with wet weather and I was certainly having some issues with Mother Nature upto that point in my wedding season!  Well, the ‘Old Girl’ decided to play nicely and delivered a stunning day – bright, sunny and warm – perfect for a gorgeous wedding!  Ian had recently re-entered the Royal Marines after a short break and looked fantastic in his ‘Number 1’ uniform – it’s always a proud moment to see a soldier on his wedding day.  Kay was stunning in her choice of dress, shoes, jewellery and styling – they made a beautiful couple to photograph.  Rise did not disappoint in anyway shape or form – it provided a refreshingly unique backdrop for some fantastic photographic opportunities.  I can’t wait to share Ian and Kay’s collection with them very soon.  if you would like to see more examples of my work, head over to Insight Photography’s Facebook page and click the ‘Like button’ to keep up with our comings and goings.
