Well this one has been a long time coming for this Hull Wedding photographer! Steph and James were married back in July 2013 at East Yorkshire’s ‘Tickton Grange’ on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
We just delivered their album and you may be asking why it took so long to do! Yup, that’s right – we delivered their album 18 months after their wedding! You may be thinking that’s a long time right? Well, by our ‘normal’ averages – 18 months is an eternity! But Steph is different, Steph is very definite, careful and considered when it comes to knowing what she wants! Her and James’ album has been like a beautifully simmered, slow cooked casserole – now it’s finished, it’s fork tender and dripping with goodness!

James and Steph are both teachers – very busy individuals – and like I said, Steph is a total perfectionist. There was no rush on this one but, it really was a labour of love and now we’ve handed it over, we can see how much of the couple’s input went into the design and refinement.
I reckon the ‘very average’ couple gets their wedding album within 6 months of their big day. This leaves time for the images to percolate, for our couples to deliberate on image choice, for us to do an initial design, for proofing and amendments and then for final post production/manufacturing.

It’s like a dance which slowly tangos it’s way to a fine finished product – the dance helps our couples ‘decompress’ from the energetic peak of their wedding day and keeps their memories alive until they have the ultimate visual keepsake of what will have undoubtedly been one of the most special day of their lives so far.
James and Steph came to visit me to pick up their album last week and were absolutely delighted. Our groom sadly lost his father before Christmas and to see him captured on their wedding day and to be remembered looking great will allow them to cherish his memory. I really do love handing albums over as it represents the culmination of what can often be 2 years of closely working with a couple. It’s also a little sad as it often means it’s a little while until we see our clients again. I know we’ll stay in touch with Steph and James, we made another set of friends through the process of capturing their big day and hope their album will delight them for years to come.
Here are the spreads from their big day – hope you enjoy! If you’d like to find out more about how we capture some of the finest Weddings in Yorkshire, head out to Insight’s website to check out our portfolios
