As a wedding photographer in Yorkshire, I love photographing my clients getting showered in confetti!  Did you know why we throw confetti at weddings?  Well I didn’t really so I Googled it and it goes back to medieval times when grain or rice was thrown over newlyweds which was supposed to represent fertility and the abundance of nature!  Confetti is also the Italian word for ‘confectionary’.  Photographing the confetti throw requires reactions like a wild Japanese tiger – especially if Aunt Hilda just can’t help herself and begins the show before everyone is ready!  It also helps to have a professional camera which is capable of capturing upto 8 frames a second – When I photograph the confetti toss I  will generally take as many as 36 frames so that I can show my couples a movie-like sequence which loves totally awesome – especially when we focus on the faces!

The sequence below was from Joanne and Jonny’s big day which I blogged about here back in August – this is a classic confetti sequence and will look awesome in their finished album!
