As a Hull Wedding Photographer, I should have blogged about Katie and Harry’s wedding a while ago, but due to some technical difficulties with the website and blog, I’ve found myself a little behind on the story-telling. I’ve been going through my un-blogged weddings this afternoon and today’s feature was just leaping out to be shared in Black and White. Katie and Harry were married back in June at a time when Mother nature thought it would be hilarious to rain each and every time I got my camera out and boy did it rain on this given Saturday! Katie’s parents have a beautiful property which they farm from out in Coniston, East Yorkshire called Dowthorpe Hall It really is an exquisite home and the family decided to hold their daughter’s wedding in the grounds. When I arrived at around 11am, I was met by the bride’s Mum shedding a tear of frustration as her husband and his farming friends were erecting a second marquee to shelter their guests from the downpour.
The weather simply did not let up all day, the rain was unrelenting but with this realisation accepted – the wedding took shape in its own special way. Plans had to change, timings had to adapt but over 200 guests enjoyed a fantastic meal and wedding reception inside a beautifully adorned marquee. The conditions really stretched my skills not only as a photographer but also as a logistics manager too! I had a very large group of people to organise in some horrendous conditions but the show must go and I was able to capture a really unique wedding and present a lovely set of pictures for the bride and groom. I hope you enjoy this snippet of Katie and Harry’s wedding.
