Yorkshire Wedding Photography at Lazaat Hotel – We were delighted to be invited to Lazaat Hotel, East Yorkshire on Saturday to photograph the wedding of Kris and Ami. It was our first decent weather wedding of the year and as I pulled backed the curtains in the morning, I got that little bit of excitement that Mother Nature was playing nicely! Hannah and I made our way to Victoria Dock where the boys were assembling to get ready. For those of our readers who are unfamiliar with ‘Viccy Dock’ it’s a retired dock which formed part of Hull port’s system – built between 1845 and 1850 – it was closed in the 1970’s and eventually was infilled to give birth to the housing estate that it now is – the original mouth of the docks from the Humber Estuary still remains. It’s a very cool area to shoot pictures so after Kris and his boys had donned their suits – we headed over to the dock gates to shoot some dynamic lit group shots.
Our bride – Ami – got ready at Lazaat Hotel so we made our way down to the classy, boutique hotel and met her mum and Bridesmaid team to help with their preparations. Ami’s dress was stunning and complimented her style completely – she such a grace about her and with spectacular light streaming in to the bedrooom window, I was inspired to create some really beautiful portraits. Sarah Nicholson from The Floral Lounge did her usual magic with floristry.
The seconds ticked away and before we knew it, 12.30 came around and it was time for our happy couple to get wed! Kris’ anticipation to see his bride had a very ‘physical’ side to it! His whole body was energised and as he turned to see his bride walking down the aisle towards him, his smile grew and grew – his specs slipped off his nose in amazement when he saw how gorgeous his wife to be looked! 2 touching readings accompanied the service before Kris and Ami signed their register and marched out into the sunshine as husband and wife!
The gardens hosted the wedding party for cocktails as hannah and I took care of the formal group shots – the weather was lovely with just tiny breeze to make sure everybody stayed cool. Once we’d finished our formals – we took the bride and groom for our ‘Penny Drop Session’ around the gardens and gave them time to ‘just be the new Mr and Mrs’! Delivering our couples back for the wedding breakfast is something we always do on time – every-time and this was no exception – in fact we were exactly 1 minute early!
Speeches were delivered after a sumptuous 3 course meal and all 3 speakers gave heartwarming performances – the best man stayed clean for this one – something I certainly never saw happening!
The party started early for Kris and Ami – a Photo Booth proved really popular – supplied by Booth 22 – they come highly recommended! The bride and groom cut their cake (made expertly by Leni at www.cakesbyleni.co.uk) and then headed on to the dance floor for their ‘first jig’ to the ever popular Christina Perri’s ‘Thousand Years’.
We left Kris and Ami just after 9pm after The Fireworkers gave a fantastic display of pyrotechnics and the dance floor was banging already. We saw the happy couple the next morning as we set up for the Lazaat Hotel wedding fayre and it was big hugs all around. We’ll be seeing them in a few weeks time when they get back from their honeymoon in Mexico!
