A wedding is one of the most important days in a couple’s life. And as a wedding photographer, it’s my responsibility to capture all of the precious moments that happen throughout the wedding day. From the bride getting ready to the ceremony, and every detail and dance in between! I strive to create a set of intimate and personal photographs that a couple will cherish for years to come. Alex and Olivia’s wedding at The KP Resort in Kilnwick Percy, East Yorkshire was a glorious event. The bride and groom had a traditional church wedding ceremony surrounded by their family and friends, who were so happy to see them start a new beginning.

Alex And Olivia’s Wedding At The KP Resort

Olivia’s bridal preparations began at four in the morning, and the room was abuzz with excitement as her bridesmaids helped her get ready for the big day. They were all so excited for Olivia, and made sure that everything was in place. Olivia looked absolutely radiant in her wedding dress, with her hair beautifully styled up and a huge bouquet of fresh roses in her hand. As she got dressed, Olivia’s father entered the room to see her. There was a look of amazement on his face, and pride – his little girl as a bride! It was such a heart-warming moment, and I’m glad to have captured it.

Alex and Olivia’s wedding ceremony took place in a church. Both Alex and his best man Michael, looked handsome as they stood at the altar. When Olivia reached the altar, Alex turned to see her and had the biggest smile on his face as he saw his stunning bride. The church had large windows all around which provided the perfect natural light for taking great ceremony shots. The guests were super fun with some of them also giving a thumbs up during the ceremony! As the ceremony continued, Olivia and Alex exchanged their vows and sealed their marriage with a kiss. You could just feel the love radiating between them.

A traditional chimney sweep was stationed outside the church to wish the couple the best of luck. The story of the lucky chimney sweep goes back to the 18th century to a parade that was attended by King George III. A fearless chimney sweep is said to have stopped the king’s runaway horses and calmed them down. The king then announced that all chimney sweeps should be treated with honour and respect, believing them to be bearers of good luck and so it became a tradition to have a chimney sweep at weddings for luck.

After their one-of-a-kind wedding ceremony, I took pictures of the guests cheering and throwing confetti in the air, as the newlyweds walked hand-in-hand. From there we headed to Olivia and Alex’s wedding reception. It was held indoors at The KP Resort. Before the festivities could begin, I took the opportunity to whisk my couple away for some portraits outdoors. The dramatic evening sky added a unique touch to their wedding photos, and the couple also posed with their uber fancy wedding car, a Rolls Royce, which was certainly one of the many highlights of their wedding day.

Their reception was a beautiful event full of love and laughter. Alex and Olivia had a five-tier wedding cake, decorated with beautiful flowers, and all the speeches were heartfelt and emotional. There wasn’t just a first dance between the bride and groom, but the bride also chose to have special dances with her father, mother, her two brothers, her three sisters and then her Maid of Honour, Victoria! The dance floor was packed with guests singing and having a good time. It was truly a night to remember.
